State Electrical Licensing Requirements
Illinois does not have a state electrical license. Check with the local municipality or county authorities that regulate building trades and issuance of building permits. The only state agency to regulate some electrical topics of interest would be the Illinois fire marshal.
Reciprocity
Electrical contractor and craft professional licensing reciprocity agreements may exist at the local level between municipalities/counties in Illinois. Contact local authorities in the jurisdiction where work is to be performed.
