State Electrical Licensing Requirements

South Carolina regulates the licensing of electrical contractors, but there is no state-required licensing of journeyman electricians. Craft licensing is at the discretion of local units of municipal or county government. The Municipal Association of South Carolina (a non-government entity) offers information on local licensing and trade exams.
